Turkey with Cauliflower, Carrots, and White Rice

Ingredients

• 1 lb ground turkey (lean)
• 1 cup cauliflower, finely chopped
• 1 cup carrots, grated
• 1.5 cups cooked white rice
• 2 cups water or plain water or homemade unsalted broth with no onion, garlic, chives, leeks, or added seasoning

Step-by-step instructions

1. In a large pot, add the ground turkey. Brown it over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
2. Add the finely chopped cauliflower and grated carrots to the pot. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
3. Pour in the water or plain water or homemade unsalted broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. This adds moisture and helps cook the ingredients evenly, which is important for digestibility and nutrient absorption.
4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and add the cooked white rice. Stir everything together and let it cook for an additional 5-10 minutes.
5. Remove from heat and let it cool before serving. Gradual cooling helps preserve nutrients and ensures the meal is at a safe temperature for your dog.
