Kidney Dog Diet AI User Guide
This guide explains how to set up Kidney Dog Diet AI, organize your dog's profile, and generate meal ideas using the information you provide.
The setup covers your access code, dog profile, optional kidney information and bloodwork, recipe preferences, allergy exclusions, cooking preferences, and ingredients on hand.
How generation works: a structured prompting framework organizes your entries and applies consistent ingredient, preparation, and recipe-format instructions to each meal idea.
Before feeding: review each generated recipe with your veterinarian.
Getting Started
1Enter your access code
Open Dog Profile, then use the Premium Access section at the top and enter the access code you received after your purchase in the field labeled "Your access code" (it looks like KD-XXXX-XXXX). Everything needed to use the recipe generator and its illustrative images is included in your pass. Once a valid code is entered, the app shows a live status panel with your recipes used, recipes remaining, and your pass expiry date.
2Your dog's profile travels with you
Your dog's profile is saved in your browser and may also sync with the app account associated with your access code. Entering the same valid code on another supported device can load the synced profile. Keep the access code private because anyone with it may be able to access associated profile information and saved recipes.
3What devices does it work on?
Any device with a modern web browser — phone, tablet, or computer. There is nothing to download or install.
Building Your Dog's Profile
4Your dog's profile
- Weight & basics — Enter your dog's weight (use the Imperial/Metric toggle for lb or kg), plus breed, age, body condition, and activity level.
- User-reported kidney information — Enter an IRIS stage only if it was reported by your veterinarian. Copy optional bloodwork values and units exactly as shown on the laboratory report. The app does not determine kidney stage or interpret laboratory results.
- Recipe Design Score preference — Set an internal generation preference from 0–100 (default 80). This is a comparison setting, not a clinical or safety rating.
- Reported conditions — Select applicable veterinarian-reported conditions or observed concerns to provide generation context.
5Allergies & foods to avoid
- Food allergies & intolerances — List foods your dog must avoid. These entries request generation exclusions but do not guarantee allergen-free output. Verify every ingredient and possible cross-contact risk before preparing or feeding.
- Current treatment — Record veterinarian-directed treatment as context only. Never start, stop, dose, or change medication, supplements, fluids, or a prescription diet based on app output.
- Foods the dog refuses — Use this field to request avoidance of disliked foods.
6Cooking preferences
- Cooking style — Choose a style such as gently cooked whole-food, novel-protein, fish-based, poultry-based, egg-forward, budget-friendly, or batch/meal-prep.
- Time available — Set how much time you have so recipes fit your schedule.
- Equipment — Note what you have, such as a slow cooker or stovetop.
- Batch or fresh & ingredients on hand — Choose fresh single meals or batch cooking, and list ingredients you already have so the app builds around them.
7Save your dog's profile
Open Dog Profile, complete the applicable fields, and save the profile. The app uses the saved entries as generation context and may sync them with the account associated with your access code. Update the profile whenever the information changes.
Quick Setup Checklist
- Access code entered correctly (KD-XXXX-XXXX) and showing as active.
- Your dog's weight entered, with the right Imperial/Metric unit.
- Veterinarian-reported IRIS stage and optional bloodwork copied with their units.
- Food allergies and foods the dog refuses are written clearly.
- Concurrent conditions, treatment, and cooking style are set.
- Profile saved and ready to use in the Generator.
Generating a Recipe
8Set up your recipe request
- Recipe type — Choose a meal idea, batch/meal-prep idea, topper idea, or treat idea.
- AI-estimated portion — The app may use the entered weight to suggest an amount, but only your veterinarian or veterinary nutritionist should establish the feeding portion.
- Ingredients on hand — Optionally list what you already have, such as white rice, pumpkin, egg whites, so the app builds around it.
- Anything specific for today — Use this for preparation preferences such as no oven or an extra-soft texture.
9Generate your dog's recipe
Tap "GENERATE A RECIPE". The app creates a meal idea based on the entries provided. An illustrative image may appear and may not exactly match the written recipe. Each generation uses one allowance. Access continues for up to 100 recipe generations or 3 months, whichever comes first; there is no separate daily limit.
My Recipes & Renewing
10Save a recipe to My Recipes
Every generated recipe idea is saved automatically to My Recipes. You can reopen it, view its illustrative image and nutrient estimates, or download it later. Saved items may sync with the account associated with your access code. Saving does not use another generation allowance.
11Download as a PDF
Tap "Download PDF" to save the recipe idea and any illustrative image for convenient printing or reference.
12Check status & renew your pass
Whenever your access code is entered, the status panel shows "Recipes Used: X of Y," "Remaining: Z Recipes," and "Expires: [date]". When the pass ends, open Premium Access and select RENEW ACCESS. The app first shows your renewal summary and price, then opens secure Stripe Checkout. Once payment is confirmed, the same access code receives a new recipe allowance and validity period. Your dog profiles and saved recipes stay connected to that code.
