Chicken with White Rice, Zucchini, and Green Beans

Ingredients

• 2 cups cooked white rice
• 1 cup skinless, boneless chicken breast
• 1 cup zucchini, diced
• 1 cup green beans, chopped
• 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional; discuss dietary oils with your veterinarian)

Step-by-step instructions

1. Start by cooking the white rice according to package instructions. Use water as the cooking liquid to avoid added sodium.
2. While the rice is cooking, heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the chicken breast to the skillet and cook for about 10-15 minutes until fully cooked through, ensuring it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
4. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the skillet and allow it to cool slightly before cutting it into small, bite-sized pieces. This helps your dog eat safely and comfortably.
5. In the same skillet, add the diced zucchini and chopped green beans. Sauté them for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender.
6. Combine the cooked chicken, sautéed vegetables, and cooked rice in a large bowl. Mix everything together well to ensure an even distribution of ingredients, which helps with nutrient absorption.
7. Allow the mixture to cool before serving it to your dog. This is crucial to prevent burns and makes the meal more appetizing.
